what happens when glasgow & aberdeen meets cyprus and moves to ayrshire?

*It’s now or never…

After spending years thinking that being an actor wasn’t for introverts, Giga bit the bullet and gave her dream a chance. She has worked as a professional actor in theatre, film, TV and voiceover since 2008.

As a voiceover artist, her work has included the narration on A Survivor's Guide to the Scottish Justice System - in conjunction with Rape Crisis Scotland, and on 2020 Stories in conjunction with SYT.

Her film projects include Family Portrait, filmed at beautiful Pollok House, which won the post-production award at the Paris Courts Devant film festival, and was shown on France's 2nd biggest TV channel 'France 3'. She also had fun filming the part of Lisa Smith in the award-winning mockumentary, Native Immigration, and was delighted to have had a part in the short film The Inescapable Arrival of Lazlo Petushki, which won Best Short Film at the Scottish BAFTAs 2017. She can be seen as Claire in Scotland’s first feature length Christmas rom-com Lost at Christmas, which was in cinemas during Christmas 2020.

Giga has funny bones (literally since she broke her leg in 2021), and filmed a sketch for an episode of the TV show Scot Squad for The Comedy Unit and BBC Scotland. She also penned and filmed the comedy short Those Christmas Perfume Ads.

On stage, Giga has worked in TIE and panto (usually playing the baddie). She also made a return to her favourite play, A Streetcar Named Desire, this time playing the lead role of Blanche Dubois. The tour included performances at the Theatre Royal, Dumfries - Scotland's oldest working theatre. Her Edinburgh Fringe debut was in Merrily We Roll Along, playing the female lead, Julia Glenn. It was the first official revival of the play since 1934, and was adapted by Chris Hart - the Tony Award-winning son of one of the original writers, Moss Hart.

Having recently turned her hand to writing, as well as Those Christmas Perfume Ads, she wrote and filmed the short film Judgement Call, which received some lovely comments from playwright and novelist Peter Arnott (see News & Reviews). In February 2022, she completed the 28 Plays Later challenge organised by The Literal Challenge which challenges writers to write 28 plays in 28 day. She is currently developing several of those plays into longer pieces.

*just one more thing...

Giga is an artist and jewellery maker. She also has a Diploma in Complementary Therapies, and is qualified in Reflexology, Swedish massage and Indian head massage. Skills which come in very useful during long film shoots and tech rehearsals!

*Giga is a life-long fan of Elvis and Columbo. She finds it weird writing about herself in the third person.
