13/03/18 - I have been learning BSL for the last 6 weeks, and loving it! Only 2 more weeks to go of this course, but I'm already booking on to the next level!

20/12/18 - Had great fun shooting the Christmas comedy short We All Have That One Friend written and produced by Natalie Clark; featuring Natalie Clark, myself and Julia Jack. Enjoy!

13/03/19 - New ‘do!

Always have my hair cut by the brilliant Scott Cooper at Belle & Blackley - I went for a shorter look this time. I love it! Time for some new headshots?

30/07/19 - It’s been a while since I’ve updated my news, but in that time I’ve gotten some great new headshots done by the wonderful Mihaela Bodlovic (see Gallery), and I’m now represented by ECM (Effective Creative Management). Onwards and upwards!

19/12/19 - Yesterday I shot and edited a little comedy short (filmed on a cracked phone, with my sister as Assistant Director and DOP). It’s a send up of the perfume adverts that appear around Christmas, and is called, cryptically, Those Christmas Perfume Ads. Enjoy! And Merry Christmas!

19/01/20 - A great start to the year! I spent today filming a brilliant little scene for Lost at Christmas - Scotland’s 1st feature length traditional Christmas movie. Coming December 2020!

30/08/20 - This week I shot and edited a short that I wrote last week. It’s called Judgement Call, and can be seen on my Media page and on Youtube. It stars one of my 2 little dogs, although the other one tried her best to get involved!

30/08/20 - So chuffed to get these lovely comments (and a share) from playwright and novelist Peter Arnott!

06/02/21 - Proud to have been involved in Scottish Youth Theatre’s 2020 Stories Part Two Young Writers' series, showcasing the work of brilliant young writers. This piece is (Let Them Be) Heroes - written by Catherine Wilson, directed by Sally Reid, with animation by Eilidh Reilly.

12/02/21 - Delighted to now be represented by AC Actors. Bring on the future!

13/02/21 - A lovely 4-star review of 2020 Stories by Joyce McMillan at Scotsman Arts. “Last June, Scottish Youth Theatre produced their first collection of 2020 Stories, a project in which young writers, often still in their teens, write online lockdown plays to be performed by some of Scotland’s leading professional actors; and if that first collection was impressive, their new batch of 19 films is even more so. In 2020 Stories Part 2 (****), directed with unfailing skill and sensitivity by Sally Reid”

15/08/21 - That’s my wee booth set up! It was a long, sweaty and satisfying job sticking up the acoustic foam. Thanks to my uncle for installing the plugs, shelves, curtain pole and lights, and my sister for donating the chair (complete with little cat claw marks). Thanks also to my brother-in-law Robin Laing and my friend Helen Mackay for the acoustic advice. I flung in a curtain from my old house, and an old rug, et voila! I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out.

20/09/21 - I achieved another couple of firsts! Almost 4 weeks ago I broke my first bone! I’d love to say I was doing some dramatic stunt on my sister’s skateboard, but it was far less cool than that. Anyway, it resulted in a pretty impressive leg break and I’ve been in a cast ever since. Not great. But it did lead to another first…I wrote my first spoken word poem inspired by my feelings since the incident. You can see it on my media page. It’s called Giving Myself a Break.

15/04/22 - More writing news! This year is completed the 28 Plays Later challenge which is organised by The Literal Challenge. The challenge is to write 28 plays in 28 days in February. I didn’t think I’d make it, but I did! I’m really chuffed. I’ve also started developing a couple of these short plays into longer pieces. Watch this space!

27/06/22 - Buzzing that an extract of my first play Fur Coat Nae Knickers was chosen by writer & Screenwriter (The Crown) Malcolm McGonigle as one of the 3 pieces to be workshopped at Stage to Page! The piece received a great response & feedback from the audience and fellow writers, actors and directors.

28/01/23 - Kicked off the year with a lovely little role as the doctor in the short film Hope, written and directed by the wonderful and talented Sabina Torres. I worked with her equally talented husband Eric Romero on the award-winning shorts Native Immigration and Lethe, so it was great to work with them again.

23/03/23 - Delighted that my play Fur Coat Nae Knickers came 2nd place in the Scottish Association of Writers’ drama competition! I missed out on winning the Helensburgh Shield, but it’s not bad for my first play.

17/04/23 - Had some brilliant new headshots done by the fabulous Jessica Hardwick! Check them out in my Gallery.

24/04/23 - My certificate arrived! Chuffed.

08/05/23 - Over the moon to be joining Linda Duncan McLaughlin and Janette Foggo in The Merry Wives of the Wyndford, written by Linda after William Shakespeare!

18/05/23 - Where have I bin? Having fun in rehearsals, that’s where!

22/05/23 - And we’re off!

05/06/23 - So, the run of The Merry Wives of the Wyndford is over. It was such a joyful job with the best team of people, and fabulous, appreciative audiences in two amazing venues. I’ll miss it terribly. Here’s what a couple of reviewers had to say:

"The Merry Wives of the Wyndford...features three magnificent, multi-rolling performance from McLaughlin, Janette Foggo and Giga Gray." - Fergus Morgan, The Stage.
"...Janette Foggo as Mistress Page, Giga Gray as the helpful feminist barmaid, and Linda Duncan McLaughlin herself as Mistress Ford, make a lively job of sending up a form of male vanity and folly that still seems oddly recognisable, a mere 425 years after The Merry Wives first took to the stage in London." - Joyce McMillan, The Scotsman.
